The beast je Netscape, blikání tagů (Their tags shall blink) je narážka na tag marquee (není součástí specifikace HTML a tudíž není prohlížeči s jádrem Gecko vykreslován jako blikající text, ale pouze obyčejný) a verš 12:10 je datum vydání Netscapu – 10.12.1994. Druhý verš z Knihy Mozilly se objevuje v šesté verzi Netscapu a prvních Mozillách.

Mammon není nic jiného než Microsoft a Internet Explorer, spolu se snahou o zničení konkurence kapitálem. 3:31 je datum zveřejnění zdrojových kódů – 31.3.1998. A třetí, a zatím poslední úryvek z "bible" je v současných verzích Mozilly a Netscapu, a naráží na faktické ukončení vývoje Netscapu po odkoupení společnosti firmou AOL.
